Sociology of Food & Culture
The course addresses structural and symbolic aspects of the contemporary foodscapes in North America, with a focus on the Canadian context. Food matters are examined as social justice concerns and modes of cultural communication. Theoretical approaches employed may include feminist, queer family studies, cultural studies and critical race theory.
Prerequisites: SY207 or SY203*.
